Double eccentric butterfly valve
AVK manufactures double eccentric butterfly valve in DN150 to DN3200 designed with tilted and fixated disc for extended service life and easy operation. The disc seal is made of AVK's drinking water approved EPDM rubber featuring an excellent compression set and thus the ability to regain its original shape. The DVGW/WRAS approved epoxy coating and fully encapsulated shaft/disc connection ensure high durability. The valves are suitable for bi-directional application.
AVK range of double eccentric butterfly valve
- Integrated seat, replaceable stainless steel seat and welded stainless steel seat
- Place disc (DN150-3200)
- IP67 gearbox, IP68 gearbox and gearbox with ISO flange
- Available at PN10, PN16, PN25
- Has longer service life due to tilted disc- following a few degrees of opening, the disc's tension is released, reducing the disc seal's potential for wear. Low operational torques are also guaranteed by the design, which minimizes sealing compression.
- It has three seat designs - the integral seat design has a machined and epoxy coated ductile iron seat integrated in the body. The stainless steel seat design comes in two variants. One features a stainless steel seat ring that can be replaced and is sealed with an o-ring to prevent leaks beneath it, while the other features a welded stainless steel seat that has been polished and machined to provide a smooth surface.
- Safe disc and shaft connection - a key a keyway hold the disc and shaft together. To stop the key from fluttering due to flow velocity and required play in the key and keyway connection, two set screws are employed to secure the key. Due to its huge size, the disc is held in place by two drive dowels made of stainless steel, with a backup key and keyway.
- Optimized disc for high performance - Using CFD simulations, the disc's design minimizes pressure loss. The disc seal's design ensures that it is fixed firmly in place and performs incredibly well. Because of the superior rubber quality, less rubber is needed to ensure reduced closing torques. DVGW, KIWA, and WRAS approve of the EPDM sealing.
- Shaft design features - for easy maintenance, the shaft sealing can be changed under pressure. EPDM and NBR sealings ensure tightness from the inside out while protecting against external fluids and impurities. Our double eccentric butterfly valves are optionally available with a locking device which makes it possible to lock the disc in open/closed position if gearbox replacement becomes necessary.
- AVK Double eccentric butterfly valve are bi-directional and slim design
- Available with actuation of your choice
AVK double eccentric butterfly valves are approved by:
- DVGW in DN150-DN1200
- KIWA in DN200-DN600
- WRAS in DN700-DN1200
- All components are approved for larger dimensions
When do we use a double eccentric butterfly valve?
As an alternative to gate valves, double eccentric butterfly valves are most frequently utilized in underground water supply applications. In general, butterfly valves are most cost-effective than gate valves, especially when installed below ground where a less bury depth is needed. This is especially true for their larger dimensions. Naturally, they can also be used above ground.
