Knife gate valves are particularly useful in wastewater applications

Knife gate valves are primarily used for on/off and isolation functions in systems with a high suspended solids content, and they are made to operate in some of the harshest environments. They are frequently used in wastewater and biogas applications because they are particularly useful for handling slurry in addition to viscous, caustic, and abrasive media. This is because they are made with a sharpened blade that can cut through heavy liquids.

Knife gate valves using superior construction materials and outstanding features

They are full bore valves providing easy flow of liquid of whatever viscosity and there are no body cavities below the gate where the medium can accumulate. When the valve is opened, particles are forced off the gate, making the valves self-cleaning. For extra packing gland protection, gate scrapers and deflector cones can be supplied for abrasive or particulate media. In addition, the top packing gland can be changed, allowing for sealing replacement without requiring the valve to be disassembled.

Our knife gate valves were made simple that allows easy maintenance and installation. The knife gate valves are bi-directional, installation is possible with no limitations on the flow direction. Excellent performance and a long service life are achieved by a full, plain bore, premium materials, and a protective sealing.

Our knife gate valves are standard with a ductile iron body and an NBR seat. Depending on the service medium and operating temperature (NBR max. 80˚C, PTFE max. 220˚C, FKM max. 260˚C), you can also choose an alternative body and seat material, such as stainless steel, FKM, EPDM, natural rubber, or polyurethane. For the best protection, fusion-bonded epoxy is applied to the valves.
